I know your name I don't know this game and I'm finding it hard to say I'm lost here. I know your name I don't know this game and I'm finding it hard to say I'm lost. And every word I say gets me closer to the next one. And every next word I say could be the one that fucks this all up. I know your name I don't know this game and I'm finding it hard to say I'm lost here. She's over there and he's over here and I'm under severe threat of losing the thread here. And every word I say gets me closer to the next one. And every next word I say could be the one that fucks this all up.

Voices 03:49
The voices in your head tend to belong to your friends and sometimes that's bad and sometimes it's good it really all depends on whose voice is the loudest and what they're trying to say and just quite how badly you wish they'd all go away. This conversation keeps ending up in a heap and when I rehearse it seems to make it worse I think I get what you say but not what you mean I think of our relationship as a well oiled machine. I like to break the ice before I go fishing for compliments like hey you talk nice I think that you could talk more but lately it's been colder just where I need the most warmth this interaction's drifting and it seems lost offshore. But we won't know we won't know until it goes away. We won't know we won't know until it goes away. But people like you and me with the impulse to pretend know that the best lies are those that are shared amongst best friends. 'Cos if we talk around things we don't have to think them through and maybe that room for doubt might just fit me and you.

It's rough when you're feeling like your head could explode at night well I'll tell you what to do think about it not exploding It's hard when you know at night that your head's not sleeping right I'll tell you what to do just make it not explode anymore. Somebody turned out the light somebody turned out the light and it got dark too dark to see what you mean. It's quite like a feeling like your head's not getting quite the exposure that it needs to be understood by anybody It's quite like a feeling like your head could explode at night I'll tell you what to do just make it not explode anymore.

Sleep Over 03:13
I'd sleep with you just to see you in the morning or to hear you say at three a.m. with your eyes still closed could you please go? It's time to leave. Just get out 'cos this bed ain't big enough for the two of us. I'd forget you if I knew that I'd remember but instead I keep you front and centre in my brain 'cos my idea of a friendship can't be severed from my ideas and repetitions between my ears 'cos this head ain't big enough for the two of us Come over and we'll see if conversation's free or if we pay the price for being too benign or being too intimate and not having the critical distance required. I'd sleep with you just to see you with your clothes off or to hear you say with your eyes half closed or open wide would you please go? It's time to leave. Just get out. I still love you but I need to sleep and this bed ain't big enough it ain't big enough.
